Forex and metals overnight financing
Forex and metals use a fixed holding charge on both sides: longs and shorts pay the same rate. Forex is charged 0.009% per day; gold and silver 0.048%. Settlement is at 17:00 New York time on weekdays, following daylight saving time. Wednesday carries a triple charge; Saturday and Sunday have none. The terminal shows the next rate and time. This is RiseUp's schedule.
The charge uses the position quantity held at the boundary and the close of the scheduled last minute candle before it: 16:59 for Forex and 16:58 for metals, in New York time. If the confirmed candle is missing, settlement waits for data and new entries pause; no substitute price is invented. The charge reduces balance and counts toward risk limits. For example, at $10,000 notional, the regular Forex charge is $0.90 for either direction, or $2.70 on Wednesday.
Rates can be positive or negative
For supported cryptocurrency perpetual contracts other than MNT, RiseUp uses Binance USD-M funding data. The rate is not fixed permanently and may change between settlements. A positive rate debits longs and credits shorts; a negative rate reverses those directions. A zero rate creates no payment. Funding is separate from the fees charged to open and close a trade.
Calculating the amount
The calculation uses the quantity held at the settlement boundary, the event's Mark price and its final rate. Leverage is already reflected in the chosen position size and is not added to the formula again. For example, at 2,000 USDT notional and a +0.01% rate, a long is debited 0.20 USDT while a short is credited 0.20 USDT. A −0.01% rate reverses the cash-flow signs.
Notional = Quantity × Settlement Mark; Long Cash Flow = −Notional × Rate; Short Cash Flow = +Notional × RateSettlement timing
Use the selected instrument's funding rate and next settlement time shown in the terminal. Do not assume one pair's schedule applies to all others: intervals may differ or change. A preliminary value before the event does not replace the final settlement record. If a position spans several settlements, their amounts are added separately using each event's rate, price and quantity.
How funding affects the account
A credit or debit changes balance, equity and risk headroom even while the position remains open. Funding history is separate from the result of a particular close. If confirmed data arrives late, an operation can appear after its settlement time; this does not make it a duplicate. To reconcile it, check the instrument, settlement boundary, rate sign and quantity held then. For small amounts, account for display precision and monetary rounding.
