Long and short
A long produces a positive price result when the market rises above entry; a short does so when it falls. The result depends on asset quantity and actual execution prices. Each account uses one direction per instrument: a new short entry is rejected while a long is open, and vice versa. Close the existing position before changing direction.
What leverage changes
New accounts support whole-number leverage from 1×. Basic/Advanced and Funded maxima respectively are: crypto 5×/2×, Forex 100×/30×, gold and silver 10×/5×. The terminal restricts the selection by instrument and the account’s assigned terms. It determines the margin required for a given notional value. If asset quantity stays unchanged, higher leverage alone does not increase monetary PnL: it reduces required margin and changes the return measured against it. Keeping margin constant while increasing notional value does increase the profit and loss from the same price movement.
N = Q × P; M = N ÷ LPosition size example
Q is asset quantity, P is entry price, N is notional value, M is margin and L is leverage. Buying 0.02 BTC at 50,000 USDT creates a 1,000 USDT position. It requires 200 USDT margin at 5× or 500 USDT at 2×. A rise to 50,500 USDT produces a 10 USDT price result in either case, before fees and funding.
Forex and metals: USD accounting
AUD/USD, EUR/USD, GBP/USD, NZD/USD, USD/CAD, USD/CHF, USD/JPY, XAU/USD and XAG/USD are synthetic perpetual contracts. Margin, notional value and results are accounted for in USD. Quantity represents contract units, not standard FX lots or physical metal delivery. USD/JPY keeps its quoted direction: a 100-contract long moving from 150 to 151 earns $100 before costs. There is no additional conversion by the yen exchange rate.
USD Notional = Quantity × Price; Long PnL = Quantity × (Exit − Entry)Before confirming
The size field supports a USDT amount for crypto or USD for Forex and metals, or a quantity of instrument units. Check notional value and margin in the estimate below the form: they are different figures. Allow for fees in addition to margin, the current spread and funds already reserved. Multiple entries in the same direction retain their individual fills; the combined position row may show an average price. A partial close releases the closed portion's margin while the remainder continues to affect account risk.
