Choosing an entry type
An order specifies the direction, asset quantity and execution conditions. The RiseUp terminal provides Market, Limit and Stop tabs. Select the account, instrument, size and leverage before submitting. An order becomes a trade only when filled: a row in the order list does not mean a position is open.
| Type | Condition |
|---|---|
| Market | A buy fills at the available ask; a sell fills at the bid. The final price may differ from the quote shown before clicking. |
| Limit | A buy can fill when ask is at or below the limit; a sell when bid is at or above it. Execution is at the limit or better. |
| Stop | A buy triggers when ask reaches or exceeds the stop; a sell when bid reaches or falls below it. Execution after triggering is at market. |
Take Profit and Stop Loss
Set the levels before entry or edit them on an open position. Protection entered in advance is attached when the entry order fills. A long exit watches bid; a short exit watches ask. A candle or Mark price touching the level alone therefore does not confirm a trigger. Stop Loss and ordinary Take Profit close at the available exit price; the specified level is not guaranteed during a price gap.
Partial exits
A partial Take Profit specifies the quantity to close. Once filled, the remaining position stays open and Stop Loss protects the remainder. Increasing the position does not automatically enlarge an existing partial take-profit quantity. Review protection after changing the size. Reduction orders must not create an opposite position.
When an order is waiting
Check bid/ask, free margin and quote status. A pending order may be waiting for its level, cancelled, or rejected on execution if funds have become insufficient. A limit entry does not guarantee a trade. Cancel unwanted orders in the order list. Dedicated Stop Limit and Trailing Stop modes are not offered in the current terminal.
