Where quotes come from
Cryptocurrency quotes in the RiseUp terminal come from Binance USD-M market data. The chart, order book, Mark and funding describe different aspects of the same market and update through separate feeds. A displayed price does not mean an asset has been purchased into your external wallet: positions and results are recorded within the selected RiseUp account.
Forex and metals
Forex, gold and silver quotes and candles come from Ostium's public API. Buys execute at ask, sells at bid; mid values the current position. The source quote determines the spread. Exchange order depth, a trade tape and traded volume are not supplied for these instruments. Candle gaps during market closures are preserved.
During a closed session, positions remain open, but entries, exits and protective orders cannot execute. The last confirmed price may value the account. After reopening, execution requires a fresh quote; a price gap may cause Stop Loss to fill beyond its specified level. The source supplies the actual session status.
Which price is used for what
For example, a candle may touch a Stop Loss level before the relevant executable side reaches it. Check bid for a long exit and ask for a short exit. The actual execution price in trade history takes precedence over a line appearing to touch the chart.
| Price | Use |
|---|---|
| Bid | The available sell price: short entry and long exit. |
| Ask | The available buy price: long entry and short exit. |
| Mark | Valuation of current unrealized PnL and account equity. |
| Candles | Price history over the selected interval for analysis; it is not the execution ledger of your account. |
When updates are delayed
After a connection loss, the last visible number may remain on screen without being a fresh quote. New entries require current data; an old value is not an execution promise. Order-book and Mark feeds can recover at different times. If a fresh order book is available, position closure may remain possible even while the data required for new entries is still recovering.
Checking an execution
Check the account, instrument, direction, time and price in trade history. When contacting support, include the trade identifier and a screenshot of the relevant area. Demo accounts use the same trading calculations, but their operation depends on the browser: a fully closed site does not process new market events. After a break, wait for quotes to recover and review open positions and their protection.
